The King is Coming!

This is a post I wrote several years ago.
I feel in my spirit, that it needs to be shared again.
If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior today,
the Cross of Christ is the only way!

Hope you enjoy this song sung by, The Hoppers.

"I Wish We'd All Been Ready!"

THE KING IS COMING

by Tracy "Bobo" Banks

Can you not feel it? Do you not see?
The time is near; I’m coming for thee.

You go about your normal tasks,
But the times and season, you do not grasp.

Have I not told you, what lies ahead?
In my Word, have I not said?

That I’ll return like a thief in the night.
This day should not overtake thee,
if you’re walking in my light.

Be watchful, be sober, My Child, you must prepare.
Evil is lurking and deception is everywhere.

Spread this word, to all those who will hear.
Receive this day; my free gift of salvation,
for my coming is near.

Prepare your heart, my child, for the time is at hand.
Soon, you will see the coming of the Son of Man.

I’ll descend from Heaven, with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel
and the trumpet of God on that day.

I’m coming for those who are prepared and watching.
Be ready my child, I’ve showed you the Way.

Thus saith the Lord.

For months, the Lord has been dealing with me about His soon coming return. I’m amazed at the people that choose to ignore the signs that Jesus Himself warned us about. My heart is heavy and saddened that many are not ready to meet my Lord and Savior.

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
I Thessalonians 4:17-18 NKJV

Every time I watch the news on the television or I open a newspaper, the Lord reminds me of the passage of scripture found in Matthew the 24th chapter.

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying,
“Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming,
and of the end of the age?”And Jesus answered and said to them: Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Matthew 24:3-8 NKJV

Is it a mere coincidence that the news headlines
look as if they could have come
straight from God’s Word?

Let me try to answer that as clearly as I possibly can.
In fact, I’ll give you several answers in hopes that you’ll accept one of them.

Not a fat chance!
No way Hosea!
Not in this lifetime!

I’ll even throw one more in for those of you who love
answering a question with another question.

You are kidding me, right?

Friends, I’ve heard it my whole life.

“The Lord is coming back soon.”

I’m sure you’ve heard it too.

But never in my life have I felt
so strongly in my spirit that
His coming could be at any moment.

I truly believe we are living
in the last of the last days.

The things that are going on in America and the rest of the world are leading up to those very things prophesied throughout the Old and New Testaments and spoke of in the book of Revelation.

I was recently dumbfounded at the remark made by a person concerned
about sharing the latter part of this scripture.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be
preached in all the world as a witness to
all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:12 NKJV

The person said,
Maybe, we should have left the latter part off.
You know words like the end will come
scare some folks.”

I turned around to face this person and with boldness from the Holy Spirit, I
 spoke these words.

“You know, people really don’t need to be scared, they just need to make
sure that they’re ready to meet the Lord.”

My sister, Tonja had a dream several months ago that she shared with me. In her dream, she said that people were going about their normal daily routines. During the hurry and scurry of everyday life, the Lord’s return was not even a thought in the minds of people and sadly, some of those people were Christians.

Tonja was so alarmed by her dream that she called many family members including myself to remind us that Jesus is coming very soon.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light,
and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 KJV

There are many different beliefs concerning
the last days. Many folks believe the rapture
of the church will take place before the
tribulation period begins and
before the Second Coming of Christ.

I believe that way, but I’m not writing this to try to prove what I believe against what others believe. I’m writing this for one purpose and for one purpose only
and that is simply to ask this question.

Are you ready to meet Jesus?

If you knew He was coming next week, would you be ready for His return?

If He came back tomorrow, would you be ready?

What if He came back before
you ever finish reading this?

Friend, are you ready?
Are your family members ready to meet Jesus?

How about your friends and your neighbors,
are they ready?

I heard a song once that said there is only one thing that you can take to Heaven.
You can’t take your money or any material thing.
The only thing you can take with you to Heaven is the people
that you’ve witnessed to and lead to the Lord.

I know it’s not always easy to witness to others, but I do know the Holy Spirit will give you the boldness and courage you need to tell others about the saving grace of Jesus.

Friend, I want you to know beyond a shadow
of a doubt that you are ready to meet
our soon coming King, Jesus Christ.

I ask the Lord everyday to forgive me for any sin in my life.
Why?
Because, I know He’s coming back for a church that has prepared
for His return and that is free from sin.

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.
2 Peter 3:13-14 KJV

Friend,
Jesus is coming soon!

Don’t be scared!
Just be ready!
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:1-3 KJV

Christmas Traditions That Last Forever

Christmas Traditions that Last Forever
By Tracy "Bobo" Banks

My family has Christmas traditions that we include during every holiday season. Many of these traditions include decorating and cooking wonderful recipes that have been passed down for generations.

The first family Christmas decorating tradition that I can ever remember is a clear glass golden ornament that belongs to my mother. She got this ornament when she was 4 years old and it has hung on her Christmas tree for the past 69 years.

Ever year since I was knee high to a grasshopper, I can remember my sisters and I carefully unwrapping mom’s golden ornament and placing it delicately on the Christmas tree. It always brought about such a special anticipation for us girls; just knowing that mom had kept it all those years.

Another decorating tradition is one that mom for some reason gladly passed on to me when I grew up and moved out on my own. I’m not quite sure why this family Christmas heirloom decoration was one that mom felt she could part with. It’s a beautiful Christmas tree that stands 12” tall and 6” wide.

It’s one of those “must be out” Christmas decorations that I carefully place in a special location every year. After seeing it, I’m sure you’ll understand why mom so graciously passed it on to me.

Okay, I admit it; it wasn’t purchased from Dillards or Macy’s Department store. I can’t even tell you that it came from K’Mart or Wal-Mart. The truth is I made it over 40 years ago, when I was in the 5th grade.

It’s a piece of rolled up poster board in the shape of a tree and it’s covered in rolled up pieces of brown paper towels that I painted with green tempra paint. (Yes, I’m fully aware of the fact that those brown paper towels and tempra paint kind of hints at my age.)

I also used foil-wrapping paper that was cut into different shapes for shiny ornaments. Merry Christmas is spelled out along the bottom of the tree with sparkling glitter. For a 5th grader, that tree was definitely a work of art.

That hand-made gift given to mom when I was eleven years old was one of those rare priceless gifts that she felt should be shared with one of her children. The actual truth is mom insisted that I take the tree or else…

I guess every family has traditions that bring smiles, laughter and sometimes-even tears.

When the holidays are in full swing, it's so easy to get caught up in the material part of Christmas. At times, I get overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of the season. When that happens, I have to stop, take a deep breath and remind myself of the true meaning of Christmas and also of the traditions that are most important to me.

The greatest Christmas tradition that I have ever been given was passed down to me from my Grandma and Grandpa Banks. I’ve found over the years that not many families share this gift that my Grandparents so wisely gave.

When I was a little girl, my family, which included aunts, uncles and lots of cousins gathered in Grandma and Grandpa's living room. All of us kids were scattered in the floor under our parent’s feet with lots of presents scattered under the Christmas tree. Needless to say, us kids couldn't wait to get our hands on those pretty wrapped packages. We learned quickly, however, that opening presents was not top priority in Grandma’s Christmas plans.

My Grandma Lois (yes, just like Timothy’s grandmother in the Bible) was the greatest woman of faith I have ever known. Grandma instilled that faith in her children and grandchildren everyday of her life and Christmas time was no exception.

Grandma wouldn’t allow us to open any present without first taking time for Jesus, the true meaning of Christmas. Grandpa would take out his big black Bible and read from Luke the 2nd chapter. All of us kids listened intently as Grandpa told the Christmas story about Baby Jesus being born in a manager in Bethlehem.

After reading God’s word, we would pray. Sometimes, it was just a short prayer. Other times, however, it was a long prayer... and for a kid waiting to open up presents, it seemed like eternity.

We finally got to open presents, but not until Grandma felt like we had truly praised, worshiped and thanked God for the wonderful gift of His Son.

As our family grew, we had to move our Christmas gathering to a community center. The number of presents under the Christmas tree grew too along with Grandma’s family tradition.

Many times, it was still Grandpa reading from the 2nd chapter of Luke, but other times, we had a real church service. Coming from a family with several ministers and one Missionary often meant our family gatherings would include a family church service. Singing, preaching, sharing a testimony, praying for the needs of our family and praising God became a regular part of every Christmas.

We learned at a very early age that Christmas time with our family would never be about presents under a Christmas tree, but about the PRESENCE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.

Grandma went home to be with the Lord in 1998 and Grandpa, 95, went home to be with the Lord this year. The legacy they gave to our family is a truly a rare and priceless gift.

I can't begin to tell you what an impact that Christmas tradition has meant to me. Grandma’s Christmas tradition was instilled deep inside of our hearts and it continues every Christmas season. We all know that inviting the presence of our Lord and Savior to our Christmas celebration will be the first priority before any present under the tree is ever opened.

The gift that my Grandparent’s gave me, I now share with you. I hope they become a part of your Christmas traditions.

Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. 2 Thessalonians 2:15 NKJV

Friend, the presence of our Lord and Savior is the greatest present of all that you can give to your family.

May God Bless You and Yours during this blessed Christmas Season!

"Delve into 2012"

At the beginning of last year, the Lord spoke to my heart the words, “Closer to Heaven in 2011.”

About a month ago, I began thinking about the New Year that was ahead of us. “Okay, Lord, what words do you have for 2012.”

You know I’m a poet, so things just naturally make more sense to me if they rhyme.

So, I’m sitting there wondering what rhymes with 12.

The words finally came and I believe with all my heart that this is what the Lord wants you and me, the Church to know for the New Year, 2012.

“Delve into 2012.”

I’m going to say it again, because I want you to get this.

“Delve into 2012!”

The word delve means to dig or to seek laboriously for information.

I believe our nation is going to see things and go through some things this Year, that we’ve never seen before.

Israel is not only God’s chosen people, but also God’s time clock and when we see the things that have happened even in this past year, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are living in the last of the last days.

I can’t make it any plainer when I say, the Rapture of the Church is the next thing to happen on God’s prophetic calendar.

What does that mean for you and me? It means, that time is short and we better get things in order.

The Number 12 is mentioned in the Bible 212 times.

In the Bible, Twelve means Divine Order and Divine government.

I believe this year will bring about things that will shake those who do not know God.

Hebrews 12:27-29 ( NKJV ) Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.

The world may panic and be in a state of confusion, but we who are washed in the blood of the lamb will not be shaken by the things of this world.

1 Corinthians 14:33 ( KJV ) For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Since 12 means Divine Order, I believe that’s what God wants us to do this year. It’s time to get our lives and our households in order.

How do we get things in order:

Number 1 - The Lord wants you and me to Delve into His Word.

It’s time to get that Bible off the shelf, wipe the dust off and dig into His Word. When the world is shaking, we’ll be standing on the solid Rock, that firm foundation that cannot be shaken, but we must know God’s Word.

Psalm 119:15, 16 KJV I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

When I taught Women’s Bible Study for 16 months, we started each Tuesday night by Picking up our Bibles and saying these Words,

It is not enough to own a Bible, we must read it.
It is not enough to read it, we must let it speak to us.
It is not enough to let it speak to us, we must believe it.
It is not enough to believe it, WE MUST LIVE IT.

Delve into God’s Word. I promise you, your relationship with the Lord will grow like never before.

Number 2 – Delve into His Promises.

If God’s Word says it, you need to start believing it! His Word is full of promises for you and me.

Hebrews 6:9-15 KJV But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Delve into His Promises.

Number 3 - Delve Into those things that are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ( NKJV )Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

We need to make sure that everything we do, everything we say, every decision we make is based on the things of God, not on the things of this world, for as the scripture says, they are only temporary.

Remember the words to this song,

"It matters so little how much you may own, the places you’ve been or the people you’ve known. For it all comes to nothing when placed at His feet, For it’s nothing to Jesus, just memories to keep.

Only one life, so soon it will pass, only what's done for Christ will last,
Only one chance, to do His will, so give to Jesus all your days, It's the only life that pays, When you recall that we have but one life."

Number 4 – Delve into the Fullness of God!

Fullness means Full. You are Filled.  It means it’s complete, it’s at the maximum, possessing or containing an abundance.

It’s time to Delve into the Fullness of God.

How do we Delve into the Fullness of God?

Romans 12:1,2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We need to quit thinking like the world thinks and start thinking spiritually. We need to stand on God’s Word and know that everything you and I will ever need in this life was accomplished when Jesus died on the cross.

Salvation, Healing, provision for our needs and much more are included in the Finished Work that Jesus did on the Cross of Calvary.

God wants you to know that He is with you as you meet the challenges of life.

Isaiah 43:1-2 ( NKJV ) But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Sometimes, we must pass through high waters, stormy seas or fiery trials. But be encouraged by this, the Bible doesn’t say that we have to remain in them forever. Remember, we’re just passing through! No matter how difficult the journey may be at times, the Lord promises that He will never leave us or forsake us.

Reminds me of the words of a song, "Some through the water, some through the flood, some through the fire, but all through the blood. Some through great sorrow, but God, He gives a song, in the night season and all the day long."

How do we Delve into the Fullness of God?

By Being Filled with the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 5:15-21 ( KJV ) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

We not only need to be filled with the Holy Spirit, but we also need to pray in the Spirit.

Ephesisans 6: 17-18 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Let’s “Delve into 2012!”

Delve into God’s Word, Delve into His Promises, Delve into those things that are eternal and Delve into the Fullness of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

God has great things in store for us in 2012.

As I said earlier, I believe there’s going to be some shaking in the world, but God’s Church will stand strong and I also believe we’re going to see a great harvest of souls.

Let’s live in the fullness of God and expect great things in this coming year.

May God Bless & Keep You!
